South African Schools Academic Performance Award
A TOWNSHIP ROOTS PROJECT
Our Mission
SASAPA administrates academic awards for Grade 10 or Grade 11 students at under-resourced schools.
Our Immediate Goal is to incentivize learners to focus on academic performance and reward hard work, by providing a partial scholarship and award to the top performer in the school.
Our Long-Term Focus is to promote academic performance within schools, and to encourage the culture of excellence that we hope for in our young leaders, and create a sense of ownership of the award by the school.
Our Partners are Township Roots (Ingcambu zaseKasi), a program which runs educational and physical initiatives for students and in at-risk communities, and independent sponsors. Township Roots coordinates with teachers, deploys funds, and works with us to provide further enrichment to all alumni.
